Corrections Deputy Recruits go through vigorous training as part of their curricula at the Training Academy. They are trained in many types of situations they may encounter as a corrections deputy in the Shelby County Jail. The basic recruit class consists of 12 weeks of training per session. Officers also go through a 40-hour In-Service refresher training annually.
