If you have at least three years of law enforcement experience with an agency that employs 25 or more personnel, you are eligible for our Lateral Deputy Program.

* Starting salary: $61,459.27 per year

* Top pay: $76,350.92 annually after just two years

Out-of-state applicants will be required to complete our 125-hour Lateral Academy to obtain POST certification in the state of Tennessee.

If you are currently POST certified in Tennessee and have completed a comparable POST-certified academy, you will only need to complete minimal training specific to additional duties performed by our Sheriff's Office.
